This is a message from Cherokee Water Company.
We've received a temporary Emergency Burn permit from TCEQ to help our shareholders with vegetative debris from the Memorial weekend storm damages.
The burning will take place at the old south side convenience station which is located in the SR Section, across from Arrowhead Park.
We will be able to accept tree trunks, branches and limbs only. No stumps, lumber, metal or any other storm damage debris will be accepted at the burn site.
- This is for use by our shareholders only and from damages on their lake lots.
- To assure we are in compliance with the State Permit, you must show your privilege card to be allowed to bring the material to the site.
- It will be open for 3 weeks from June 7th thru Wednesday June 28th. Hours that material will be accepted are Monday thru Friday 8am - 6pm and Saturday & Sunday from 8am until noon.
For any other debris, remember that each of our shareholders can take up six cubic yards of waste per year to Pine Hill Landfill. That is the equivalent of approximately 2 pickup truck loads.
To receive this benefit, just come by the CWC office to receive your pass.
We hope this will help in the enormous cleanup process many of us are going through.
